Christopher D. Smith

Mr. Smith has been with GarMark since 1999 and has more than 15 years of experience as a principal investor, investment banker and corporate director. Mr. Smith is responsible for identifying investment opportunities, evaluating investments, structuring and negotiating transactions, managing due diligence, and working with portfolio companies at GarMark. Prior to joining GarMark, Mr. Smith worked at PaineWebber Inc. in the Investment Banking Division’s Industrial Group. Mr. Smith covered the transportation and defense industries, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and debt financings. Mr. Smith began his career in the Equity Capital Markets Group at PaineWebber, participating in the execution of numerous initial public offerings and follow-on equity offerings. Mr. Smith received his B.S. from Georgetown University, where he completed a double major in Finance and International Business. Mr. Smith also studied comparative business policy and international finance at Oxford University’s Trinity College.
